This is one of the rare pictures taken of a baby seal where they truly show themselves. These are vicious blood thirsty animals that roam Canadian territory in search of tender, wealthy privately-insured Canadian human meat.

its because they are cute. that's the only reason anyone cares. and i find it one of the worst armchair eco-hero causes out there made only to rile up the ignorant housewives to donate to causes that produce nothing except advertisement. what does all that money collected go to? stopping the industry that's been on the decline since the 1800's? its a throw away topic used to build up money for other projects.
they are not endangered. they are not overfished their populations are actually outstripping food supplies. the seal hunt consists of less than fifty vessels (probably less i did not look it up i just know its so low its ridiculous) they aren't a commercial industry its luxury at best. they stopped clubbing seal years ago due to outcry's but old footage is still used to rile up discontent. at the end of the day the entire haul is less then the amount of any commercial animal killed in a single day here in Canada.
but they are cute so top dollar programming because you don't hear Green peace giving much of a flying fuck for the extinction of rare insects in the Amazon.
