Deviousness |
I believe seal hunting is actually beneficial to the endangered cod populations of the north since seals are overpopulating because of global warming. Milder conditions heightens their chance of survival and got their numbers to literally explode since the past 30 years.
While the already weak cod population isn't getting much benefit from the milder climate since seals are always after them. And letting all seals eat all the cod means they will disappear too once there will be none left.
So seal hunting is actually a way human has thought of to try to un-foul what they have all fouled up...
It's no more cruel than butchering a cow or pig. Just because it's done outside doesn't mean it's more cruel in any way...
beating them up as a sport isn't a crime?
When I lived in Morro Bay the fishermen there were wanting to kill OTTERS because they liked to eat the crab and were a nuisance. Well, hello... sea mammals eat other sea creatures.
You are right on one thing - it is "no more cruel than butchering a cow or pig." That's not saying much. You should pick up Eisnitz's "Slaughterhouse." You'd be amazed.
Anyway, funny piece. Thank you for a laugh.
