here, they denied a 12 year old girl who was raped by her father the right to have an abortion. when she was at the gesell dome with psychologists, some pro-life people broke into it and showed the little girl those horrible pictures they publish in their pages (wich include malformed babies, false pictures, etc) and telling her she was going to hell and stuff.
recently a 15 year old raped by her stepfather asked for the right to have an abortion and preserve the biological sample to prove the identity of the father. she said she was going to commit suicide if they denied her petition. she's still waiting in the middle of a judicial fight because the doctors of the hospital are afraid of pro-life groups, the judge waited 1 WHOLE MONTH to answer that "it was to late to make an abortion" (which is untrue), and all that crap.
another girl is in prison, because she had to give birth to a baby whose father had raped her. when she saw the baby girl, she saw the father's face in her, and killed her. justice ignored postpartum psychosys, they never tried to help her, they just jailed her.
and so forth.
Abortion has only been liberalized in Portugal two years ago (we were one of the last few in Europe to still have it illegal).
Women would do home-made abortions, often killing them, or went to Spain to do it a proper clinic. Changing the law as a matter of public health.
it's horrible that some people "defends life", even if the mother is a little girl who can't raise a child and will suffer a lot through the pregnancy, or if she's so poor she knows she can't feed a child (but, when the baby grows and lives in the streets and steals, they ask for repression and want to disabolish death sentence... it's a funny way of being pro-life!!)
